Advocating Annie witnesses

Written by Sue Bayley

There is a group of unseen, unheard, individuals. I have come to my attention, more and more.

Often with a harsh childhood, overlaid with complex emotional, physical and sensory needs.

One particular person, has told me that story, and has put the trust in me. Although his patterns of communication are interrupted by dyslexia, a neuro diverse mind, and many painful physical ailments, his fear of the system keeps him isolated from support.

Of course he has his part to play in this tangled mess, yet he does not have a clue how to untangle himself.

He totally understands the intention of Tangledtree, and the metaphor of gnarled branches, and twisted roots.

Advocating brings a wider picture of how he is one of so many, and how the system doesn’t join up, so that rents rise, and benefits leave a gaping gap, all available habitable, and often inhabitable spaces have been used up, often oversubscribed by 100 to 1.

So I am open to ideas, as I want to find a way to be part of a solution, not just a listening ear, with an open heart.

“Only the mind cannot be sent into exile” Ovid: AZ QUOTES

“Exile is strangely compelling to think about but terrible to experience. It is the unhealable rift forced between a human being and a native place, between the self and its true home: its essental sadness can never be surmounted. And while it is true that literature and history contain heroic, romantic, glorious, even triumphant episodes in an exile’s life, these are no more than efforts meant to overcome the crippling sorrow of estrangement. Edward Said: AZ QUOTES

“Only the misfortune of exile can provide the in-depth understanding and the overview into realities of the world” Stefan Zweig: AZ QUOTES
