How often do you walk or run? You can take this question literally or metaphysically.

So what do I mean, I often walk in the swimming pool after a swim and gather the water to me, creating ripples as I go.
Conversely you can say I expect my child to develop at the same pace as her peers, so that she can compete in the tough world out there.
What if her natural pace was different or out of sync with her contemporaries? yet in reality she is still instrincally of value, and over natural time, she outperforms her classmates.
I say this as someone who has walked this path: And has been judged and conditioned along the way. Yet looking backwards I can that I had to walk this path to be of service to those I am meant to serve.
Here is a message from the Hare and the Tortoise: A fable by Aesop. Once there was a hare who bragged about his prowess. The tortoise thought he was a egoic. He asked the hare for a race. The Hare thought “easy”. The hare sat down by a tree .”That tortoise will never beat me!” he thought. The Hare soon fell asleep. The tortoise kept going. He didn’t stop until he got to the end of the race.
After his peers congratulated him, the hare woke up. He started running again, all in vain, as the tortoise had won. He asked for a re-run, yet no-one agreed with him. They declared the tortoise to be the winner, despite his objection.
So tenacity and self-determination pay off. However it takes courage to shake off the messages from families and institutions who make assumptions about potential, and those very words and actions can mar the progress of the young ones, and they stifle their gifts into untapped potential.
Until someone takes the time to help them see their limiting beliefs, and encourage them to turn themselves around 180 degrees. Yet they are the ones who can make the shift, the ideal to help adults not project their shadow onto the next generation in the first place. However to hold the perspective that they are special, and their children are special, and the gifts will be unveiled in organic timing.
